Corporate Plan

Summary

Our corporate plans outline our priorities to help improve life in Belfast. They explain what we are doing to create a safer, cleaner and more attractive city.

Current corporate plan

Image: Cover of Corporate Plan 2007-08 The activities in this plan are focused around three key areas: This plan also sets out the improvements that we will be making to our key processes over the coming year. These include the way we plan and set priorities, how our finances are managed, the way we get the best from our people and the way we manage communications and information.

These are the building blocks that any good organisation needs to put in place if it is to fulfill its potential. We are already seeing the benefits of these changes in terms of efficiencies and better performance management. By making our processes more efficient, we will free up resources to better support frontline service delivery.

We will also implement our new governance structures. This will involve reducing the number of committees, which will help to speed up our decision-making processes and reduce the amount of time spent in meetings. This will give our councillors more time to do what they do best - working with communities and individuals to address the issues that matter to them.
