Inverary
Date: October 2008 - February 2010 Location: Square behind Invernook Gardens
Artist: David Dudgeon
The aim of this project was to redesign an area of waste ground and create a shared space for residents and the public to enjoy. The land was previously used as a gathering place for young people engaged in anti-social behaviour.
A 20 feet tall artwork - which represents the ship building heritage of the city - was installed behind Invernook Gardens, in the Inverary area of east Belfast, in February 2010.
It was created by artist David Dudgeon, with the help of young people from the area who took part in design workshops.
