Lower Shankill
Dates: October 2008 - June 2009Location: Lower Shankill Estate and general area
Artists: Steven Tunley, Tim McCarthy, Lesley Cherry and Ed Reynolds
Murals have been designed, along with the local community, to replace ten existing paramilitary murals which are a tourist attraction in the area.
Four artists worked closely with a range of local community groups, including the Lower Shankill Community Association, its human rights group, residents and community workers, to identify subjects for the new murals and then create them.
The new murals use a combination of traditional mural skills and modern digital production techniques.
Each of the new murals will feature a small plaque, showing what it replaced.
