Awards

Our Renewing the Routes scheme is an award-winning project. A selection of our awards is below.

BURA Award for Best Practice in Regeneration

Our Renewing the Routes scheme received the British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) award for Best Practice in Regeneration in November 2009.

Through this independent award, BURA seeks to identify and promote projects that are making a positive contribution to economic regeneration, acting as catalysts for wider regeneration and creating a self-sustaining momentum with long-term benefits for local communities.

The award embraces diversity, recognising projects across the UK on a variety of scales and celebrating the enormous range of people and organisations involved in regeneration.

Recognition at the Gaelgradam Loch Lao event held by Forbairt Feirste for use of the Irish language

This event, held in December 2009, gives recognition to the contribution made by businesses and community groups to the Irish language revival. By working with Forbairt Feirste, Irish and bilingual signage can now be seen along the Falls and Upper Springfield routes.

West Belfast Partnership Board's Environmental Award

Our Renewing the Routes Scheme received two West Belfast Partnership Board Environment Awards in October 2009: Through these awards, the West Belfast Partnership Board Environment subgroup acknowledges the work of the local people who have worked to improve and enhance their environment and encourages other organisations to take ownership and responsibility for their environment.
