About Renewing the Routes
Our Renewing the Routes Initiative aims to tackle problems of economic, social, physical and environmental decline of the main roads in Belfast. These routes were once the focus of thriving neighbourhoods in the city but they have experienced serious decline over past decades and are in need of investment.
The routes (to varying degrees) have all been adversely affected by depopulation, economic and environmental decline and social segregation.
This section provides examples of ongoing and completed projects. We will regularly update it to reflect the continuing regeneration activity along the routes.
