Skate park

The park, which will cost £260,000 to build, will be located under the M3 flyover at Nelson Street.

It will cater for the following urban sports:
Image: A boy skating We're working with Belfast Urban Sports and Sport Northern Ireland to develop the land and discussions are also being held with the Northern Ireland Transport Holdings Company (NITHC) who own the site.

We've invited companies to apply to help us with a design for the park, so we can make it one of the best in Europe and a huge draw for urban sports fans worldwide.

An extensive survey has also been carried out, which highlights the need for a skate park in Belfast.
The park is scheduled to open in early 2009.
