Environmental Health Service

If you want to find out more about the new law or are thinking about making changes to your premises, call our Environmental Health Service on 028 9027 0428.

Building Control

Businesses are not required to provide outdoor smoking areas for staff or customers.

However, if you are planning to erect any kind of structure, for example, an awning, canopy or shelter, call our Building Control team on 028 9027 0432.

External agencies

If you want to provide an outside area for your customers, you may need to contact the Planning Service (028 9025 2800) or the Roads Service (028 9025 3000).

If the outside area is a public footpath and you plan to serve alcohol, you will need to check that your liquor licence allows drinking in the area.
