What is SNAP?
The SNAP team (Strategic Neighbourhood Action Programme) was set up to help us adapt our services to local area working. This small team are developing the tools, procedures and policies that we will need to work at smaller, well-defined, geographical levels across Belfast. Some of the major activities the team are undertaking include:
- Establishing the policies and mechanisms to reshape our approach to neighbourhood working
- Consulting on the new local area boundaries - the 21 City Places
- Mapping out the types of local services that we, and our partners, currently deliver across the city
- Setting up innovative methods to allow the citizen to engage more effectively with their local councillors and our services
- Working with citizens and our partner organisations to create local plans that will guide our services in each area over the coming years.
- Ensuring that Local Area Working works effectively with our commitment to Neighbourhood Renewal.
