Belfast Clubmark
This new accreditation, organised in partnership with Sport Northern Ireland, is for junior sports clubs in Belfast. It aims to identify and develop clubs and the contribution they make to sports development in the city and, as part of the programme, we assess and accredit clubs who display 'best practice' in the following areas:
- effective management
- quality coaching and competition
- safety.

How to take part
Signing up to Belfast Clubmark is easy. Here's how the process works:- Visit the Sport NI website to register
- Nominated contact from your club receives an accreditation pack
- Club meets with facilitator (usually a community sports development officer) to discuss what the accreditation process involves
- Club submits portfolio for assessment to us
- Club is assessed by council officers and accredited to the appropriate level depending on whether they pass or fail
- Letter is sent to club informing them of their accreditation status
- Club receives a review of their accreditation every 12 months
- Full renewal is needed after three years.
Benefits
There are lots of benefits associated with the Belfast Clubmark programme, including:- support and guidance for your club
- potential to increase your membership and raise the club's profile
- club development opportunities
- development opportunities for coaches, administrators and volunteers
- £350 worth of sports equipment vouchers and discounts (for bronze accreditation) and a further £300 worth of vouchers (for silver or gold accreditation)
- discounted courses as part of our coach education scheme
- information about our Support for Sport grant scheme and out-of-hours access to our leisure centres.
Examples
