St George’s Market Chocolate Festival 2010

Do you love chocolate? If so, celebrate and indulge at our Chocolate Festival at St George's Market. Enjoy special events, demonstrations and delicious free samples!

We are proud to boast the finest locally made chocolates, following in a tradition set by Sir Hans Sloane from Northern Ireland.

While exploring the Caribbean, Sir Hans discovered that milk and cocoa beans made perfect partners. Now, in St George’s Market 350 years on from the birth of Sir Hans Sloane and in the run up to Easter, you too can celebrate chocolate in its many delightful forms.

City Centres Chocolatier samples

Time: 10am – 12pm

City Centres Chocolatier will be unveiling the secrets behind each chocolate and offering free samples. They also carry a range of diabetic chocolates.

St George's Bar and Grill demonstration

Time:12pm – 1pm

St George’s Bar and Grill will be whipping up savoury chocolate recipes using ethically sourced Colombian chocolate from the Santander region.

They will also be demonstrating delicious chocolate desserts.

CoCouture samples

Time: 1pm - 3pm

CoCouture will be sampling and discussing their chocolates, made at Deirdre McCanny’s Chocolate Boutique on Chichester Street, Belfast

CoCouture is the winner of Great Taste awards and Deirdre is a member of the Chocolate Academy.

In addition to the events above, we will have an array of chocolate with ice cream, cakes, cookies, brownies, hot Chocolate and more available in the market.
