Cleansing forums
We hold regular cleansing forums in each area of Belfast. The forums give members of the public the chance to speak to our cleansing services staff about issues in their area.
For more information about the forums, call 028 9050 0501.
The cleansing forums will take place on:
| Area | Date | Time | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| West | Wednesday 4 September | 2pm | Kennedy Way Recycling Centre |
| South | Wednesday 19 June | 7pm | Morton Community Centre |
| North | Wednesday 5 June | 7pm | Salisbury Bowling Club, Salisbury Avenue |
| East | Monday 10 June | 7pm | The Mount Community Centre |
If you can't come along to our cleansing forums, you can also let us know what you think about our cleansing services by completing our online form.
Our Community Awareness Team works with local communities to make Belfast a cleaner place to live, through advice, talks, visits and cleanups. The team can also answer your queries regarding cleanliness.
Community cleanups
If your community group wants to improve the appearance of your local area and tackle environmental crimes, such as fly-tipping, littering and graffiti, contact our Community Awareness Team to organise a cleanup.
We can provide you with brushes, shovels, litter picks, gloves and bags free of charge. We'll deliver these to you in advance and collect them again, along with the rubbish, once the cleanup is complete. You'll need to give us at least one week's notice to give us time to organise the equipment.
Please note, it's your responsibility to look after the equipment and ensure that all items are returned at the end of the cleanup. You'll also have to sign a receipt when you receive the items.
When arranging a cleanup, please tell us how many adults and children will be taking part so that we can provide you with the correct size of gloves and litter picks.
We can also help you carry out risk assessments. And if you're holding a large-scale cleanup we can help you organise promotional leaflets (please note that leaflets are only offered when there are large numbers of volunteers involved).
