Research into business attitudes towards sustainability

We recently surveyed businesses across Northern Ireland to see how they felt about sustainability issues and to ask them how their environmental performance impacted on their business.

Main research findings

Our research shows that businesses recognise improving environmental performance as key to achieving a more positive public perception.

It also highlights the fact that environmental consideration has increased firms' chances of securing public procurement contracts. We also found that many businesses want more help to improve their environmental performance.

We can now use our findings to improve the services we provide to businesses in Belfast.

BITES programme

Our BITES programme is a business development initiative designed to help firms reduce waste and energy, boost profits and help the environment. It provides businesses with ideas on how to use energy, water, transport and waste in a more environmentally-friendly way.
