The Tall Ships are returning to Belfast in July 2015.
The city will be the starting point for The Tall Ships Races 2015, an annual race series organised by Sail Training International.
Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009
Tall Ships Belfast took place 13 - 16 August 2009.Belfast was the finishing port of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge, with ships completing over 7,000 nautical miles. The event included:
- street theatre
- fireworks
- aerobatic displays
- live music
- continental markets
- a fun fair.

Boost to tourism and economy
Around 750,000 people crowded to the city's docks for the biggest event ever staged on the island of Ireland. This included 100,000 holiday-makers who visited the city especially for the event and 250,000 people believed to have watched the magnificent Parade of Sail out of Belfast Lough.It is estimated that the event generated £16 million for the local economy.
The event was partly funded by Belfast City Council.
