We have worked with our partners in the tourism sector to create a cultural tourism strategy for the city to position Belfast as a significant European cultural tourism destination offering a visitor experience that informs and entertains through cultural presentation and exhibition that is relevant to the city .

Aims of the strategy

The strategy has several aims:

To develop partnerships which will be responsible for preparing the physical environment of Belfast for future cultural tourism initiatives.
To oversee the development of a Cultural Tourism Forum, to build awareness and understanding of the cultural tourism offering and to maintain regular communication between the tourism and cultural sectors and with the tourist.
To ensure good progress on the development of new cultural sector infrastructure by encouraging those institutions and funders currently working on plans to reach decisions on which projects they favour within appropriate time limits.
To develop new products supported by extensive research.
