About the Ulster Hall
Who designed the Ulster Hall?
The hall was designed by Newry architect W. J. Barre. He won a competition organised by the Ulster Hall Company which had been formed in the late 1850s in order to build a concert hall by means of public subscription.Who was responsible for the refurbishment of the venue?
The architect for the refurbishment was Consarc Architects, a Belfast based practice. The building work was carried out by Grahams.The interpretive exhibition has been designed by Tandem Design, based in Holywood Co Down.
Attending a concert
Do I need a ticket for babies and young children?
Yes. Everyone needs a ticket to attend a concert, even babes in arms.However, children under the age of three will not be admitted to the auditoria unless for a concert aimed specifically at children.
What is the dress code?
We don’t have any fixed rules about dress.We do host formal events from time to time but these are usually for invited guests and any required dress code will be made clear with your invitation.

Yes, we have an audiovisual co-ordinator who can assist you with any queries you have.My meeting is quite small. What facilities do you provide?
We offer six meeting rooms which range in size and can accommodate between three and 100 people.Is technical support provided?

Yes, the main auditorium can accommodate up to 400 diners.I want to get married at the Ulster Hall. Is this possible?
