Urban sports park

Boy performing tricks on a BMX bike Work will begin on Northern Ireland's first urban sports park in early 2010.

The site, named Bridges Sports Park, will be located under the M3 flyover at Nelson Street (near Custom House Square).

We're working with Belfast Urban Sports, a charity made up of expert urban sports enthusiasts, to develop the park and
make it a world-class, state-of-the-art facility.

We hope the park will attract visitors from Europe and beyond for skateboarding, in-line skating, parcours and BMXing.

Boy skating The park will include a capsule bowl which flows into a street complex, complete with handrails, hips, quarter pipes, grind boxes and hubbas.

More information about the site's opening will be confirmed nearer the time but it will include professional demonstrations, music and the chance to try out the park and its equipment.

Details will be available on this website, in the local press and in our residents' magazine, City Matters
