Waste

We currently recycle 32% of our waste, but in order to meet targets, we must recycle at least half our waste by 2015, and 60% of it by 2020.

We have developed an action plan to meet these targets, and will ensure that by 2015 we will not send any waste direct to landfill.

In developing this plan, we researched current waste trends and recycling behaviour in Belfast. It revealed how much we are currently recycling, what materials we are recycling well, and the materials we could recycle more of.
