Waste treatment video

We have produced a short video about the waste treatment process available at Mechanical Biological Treatment and Energy from Waste facilities. These were the two options considered for the North Foreshore site.

There are three sections to the video. You will need Windows Media Player to view the clips.

This clip, which is 98 seconds long, explains the different treatment processes involved in each facility.

It explores a Mechanical Biological Treatment plant in Zell am See, Austria to see how it deals with waste, while the city's mayor explains the importance of environmental issues in the region.

It also looks at an Energy from Waste facility in Spittelau, Vienna. In interviews, local representatives explain how waste incinerated at the plant is used to produce thermal energy which heats and powers local homes and businesses.
