Belfast believes in Christmas!

  • Christmas in Belfast

Belfast Christmas lights are now officially on to mark the start of the Christmas season, with the addition of new bespoke Belfast lighting across the city centre.

Other seasonal offerings in this year’s Christmas programme include:

Look out for more vibrant utility box makeovers that are in the pipeline during the Christmas and New Year period.

Beyond the city centre, funding has also been made available for communities to come together to dress and animate their own neighbourhoods for the festive season.

All plans have been drawn up with restrictions around social distancing in mind and they are subject to review depending on public health advice at the time.

    * Following the NI Executive’s announcement on further restrictions coming into effect from 27 November, the opening of The Star Factory lighting installation and trail in the grounds of City Hall has been postponed.

The event will now open on Saturday 12 December, subject to restrictions at that time, and we are planning to extend its run until Sunday 10 January.

We are sorry for any disappointment. Tickets holders will be contacted directly to rearrange bookings, and we will be providing updates via our website and social media channels.

Although the grounds will remain closed, City Hall will be looking magical and The Star Factory’s bespoke festive lighting and installations can still be enjoyed if you’re in the city centre and you’re passing by.
