Step beyond the city centre and explore South Belfast’s fascinating mix of history, heritage and culture.

On this three hour walking tour, our expert local guides will take you from the grandeur of City Hall through the Linen Quarter and the Queen’s Quarter, uncovering how linen, learning and life along the Golden Mile shaped Belfast’s identity.

Along the way you will discover

  • How the linen boom of the 19th century built “Linenopolis”
  • The stories behind South Belfast’s public parks and landmark buildings
  • How South Belfast both suffered and thrived throughout the Troubles
  • How and why class, religion and education shaped everyday life for those that lived here
  • Why South Belfast reveals a different side to the city’s story
