Cruise ships’ multi-purpose berthing facility and aparthotel building in Bedford Street planning applications approved

A mix of planning applications were approved at council's Planning Committee last night.

Among these was an application for an amendment to the construction of a new multi-purpose berthing facility for cruise ships to the city - at land on Airport Road West in the Harbour Estate.

 

This planning application by Belfast Harbour Commissioners was given the green light which will also see the relocation and extension of the main cruise terminal building, an additional baggage building and site works including lighting, landscaping and ancillary infrastructure.

 

The Committee also approved the renewal of an application by Andras House for the refurbishment of a four-storey terrace at 29 – 33 Bedford Street including an extension to the rear and build of a new 13 storey aparthotel.

 

While planning permission was also given to resurfacing work and a minor extension to the existing 3G pitch at Hammer Playing Pitch, as well as, replacement floodlighting, 50-seater covered mini-stand, additional fencing and replacement dugouts.
