City Quays Gardens is a new public space beside the City Quays buildings and the historic Belfast Harbour Offices.
The re-greening of City Quays Gardens aims to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, create shade and shelter, improve connections to nature and respond to and reflect the natural Lagan landscape. Its design is influenced by the site’s unique industrial and ship building heritage and the River Lagan waterside location.
Belfast Grand Central Station, at Weavers Cross, is in the heart of the city.
It’s Ireland’s largest integrated transport facility, with eight rail platforms and 26 bus stands. The eight hectare site is home to a modern high capacity transport hub (on the site of the existing Europa bus centre and Great Victoria Street train station), along with impressive mixed-use development proposals.
