Guidelines for using our civic amenity sites
Access to civic amenity sites
- Only pedestrians can access Agnes Street and Springfield Avenue civic amenity sites. There will be no access for vehicles. If you are driving to either of these sites, please park safely outside and bring your waste into the site on foot.
- Cars can access the Cregagh Road civic amenity site. There is a new one way system in place.
- Vans and light goods vehicles can't access any of the civic amenity sites. If you have a van or light goods vehicle please use one of our recycling centres.
Other temporary restrictions
- You may be asked to provide proof of address as the sites will only be open for people living in the Belfast City Council area. Examples of proof of address we will accept include your driving licence, a utility bill (gas, electricity, broadband supplier), or a bank statement.
- There may be some queues and delays, so please co-operate with any traffic arrangements in place and the instructions from staff.
- The number of users on site at any one time will be restricted to maintain social distancing.
- You will be responsible for unloading your own waste to maintain social distancing from staff and other site users. If you have a large amount of waste or if you need help with a bulky item, we suggest that you use a recycling centre instead and bring a passenger.
- If you are self-isolating or have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) you should not visit a civic amenity site or recycling centre.
- Please show respect for our staff at all times. We have a zero tolerance policy on work related violence.
- Last admission to each site will be 15 minutes before the site is due to close.
- All site users must follow these rules. Failure to do so will result in users being asked to leave the site.
- If you arrive in a van or light goods vehicle, you will not be permitted access.
