Ballysillan Playing Fields redevelopment
The ambitious £9 million project to transform Ballysillan Playing Fields into a new destination public park has begun.
The project’s vision is to create a space where people of all ages can get active and have fun in an attractive, safe, accessible and ecologically diverse parkland setting.
Work on the project began in July 2025 and is expected to be completed by Spring 2027.
During the works the playing fields will remain open, with sections closed in stages where required. We will put signage in place to keep users informed of any disruption.
Funding
The project will be funded by The Executive Office's Urban Village Initiative, the Department for Infrastructure and the Department for Communities. We will deliver the project and manage the park when it opens.
