As part of our PEACEPLUS funding, five projects within the Community Regeneration and Transformation theme of our PEACEPLUS Local Community Action Plan, include capital projects, along with animation activities to engage residents.

These are the capital projects funded by SEUPB:
An upper floor at 2 Royal Avenue will be transformed into a vibrant LGBTQIA+ Hub. It will provide a communal space for various cultural communities to connect and support LGBTQIA+ individuals and people interested in learning about LGBTQIA+ issues.
Annadale Embankment will become a shared neighbourhood space with a playpark, community facilities and a men’s shed to encourage intergenerational activity. An animation programme will engage youth and community groups through training and events, fostering shared ownership of the green space.
Close to one of Belfast’s interfaces, this project will create a safe, family-friendly area with pathways, lighting and natural play. Capacity-building and shared programming will help local groups collaborate, promoting good relations and setting a new standard for shared development.
Over eight kilometres of new and improved pathways, stream crossings and wayfinding signage will reconnect communities in north and west Belfast with the Belfast Hills. Guided walks, heritage talks and cross-community events will deepen understanding of their cultural and environmental value.
In east Belfast, performance facilities at the Sanctuary Theatre will be enhanced and relaunched with a cross-community arts outreach programme. It will act as a creative catalyst for dialogue, empathy and understanding..
Three major shared spaces capital projects in north and west Belfast were completed in 2024. This included:
