Belfast hosted the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the world’s biggest celebration of Irish music and culture, for the first time in 2026. We welcomed 1.65 million people into the city between Sunday 2 August to Sunday 9 August 2026, more than doubling the estimated 800,000 visitors.
Qualifying competitors from all over the world showcased the very best of traditional music, song, dance and language in All-Ireland competitions.
We delivered the event in partnership with organisers, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and their local branch Ards CCÉ, as well as a range of city partners and other authorities.
Some road closures remain in place until Wednesday 12 August 2026 as part of the takedown of the event infrastructure.
The Fleadh will return to Belfast on 1 to 8 August 2027.
Our Accreditation and Logistics Hub remains open from 7am to 9pm each day, up to Sunday 16 August, to continue managing arrangements for business deliveries and collections. We've appointed The Traffic Management Company to run the hub on our behalf.
