Lone Pensioner Allowance (LPA)

If you are aged 70 or over, and live alone, you may be entitled to a 20 per cent reduction on your rates bill. This benefit is not means tested.

There are some exceptions which allow you to claim Lone Pensioner Allowance if you don't live alone, for example, if you have a carer living with you.

A connection hub for older people is open on Tuesdays in 2 Royal Avenue. It is a place to meet, chat and find out about events and services.

Good Morning project

Good Morning Projects help seniors stay connected to their community through daily phone calls. They provide a free telephone support service for older and vulnerable people, which helps to reduce feelings of isolation and improves health and wellbeing.
