Lord Mayor Tracy Kelly is giving back to the community with an afternoon of free fun, sport and wellbeing for children of all ages.

Sports

  • Sporting samplers from local boxing and fencing clubs.
  • See some of Ormeau Table Tennis Club’s top players exhibit what they can do and have a go yourself.
  • Inspiring talks and kickboxing demonstrations with Full Circle Martial Arts.
  • Cheerleading demonstrations and displays from the Sandy Row Falcons.
  • Fun high-energy fitness sessions for all ages with Fitness Freddy.
  • Pick your own fruit and cycle on the GLL smoothie bikes to make your own smoothie.

Wellbeing

  • Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing workshops with the Belfast Health Development Unit. Learn ways to look after your physical and emotional health, self-care and choices, and nutrition advice with a specialised dietitian.
  • ‘Good Vibes Only’ disco rave in the Great Hall, with confetti pops, dancing props, dance-offs and good vibes music.
  • A ‘silent’ disco delivered by the Oh Yeah Music Centre.
  • Relaxed mindfulness sessions with Explore Wellbeing Kids – relaxed family-friendly sessions with feathers and breathing techniques, calm music, mindfulness games and yoga style mind and movement.
  • Crafts and mindful colouring with Tre-Eco - a space for children to be calm, relaxed, learn to breathe correctly and get rid of their worries and anxieties.

Creativity

  • Sunflower planting with Tre-Eco.
  • Come and try your hand at some circus skills – juggling, plate spinning, diablo, hula hooping and tightwire for children of all abilities.
  • Sensory play with Explore Wellbeing Kids.
  • Recycling information stall with creative and making activities for children to learn about helping the planet with our Environmental Education team.
  • Arts and crafts workshops with ArtsEkta, including Chinese lanterns for good luck, calming Indian Rangoli Mandalas, Arabic mosaic tile printing and Mexican Piñata making.
  • Step into the creative world of virtual reality gaming, music making, animation and DJing with Wheelworks Arts.
  • Take Away Theatre with Open Arts. An interactive, fun experience for disabled people and their families or close friends, suitable for ages five and over. Participants create their own story and drama based on a unique Takeaway Theatre Menu with a specially chosen box of props! Sessions last for one hour. You must book in advance by emailing [email protected]. When you have emailed to book, you will receive a call to make sure the needs of everyone taking part will be met. Three of the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities Tre-Eco, Little Heroes, and NI Alternatives, will be at the event providing information on the amazing work they do in the city.

Stuart Robinson from Cool FM will be keeping everyone entertained from the Cool FM stage in the grounds, with lots of music, interactive fun and giveaways. Look out for some interesting characters popping up around the grounds.
