With over 110 species to discover, Belfast Zoo is the perfect setting for your next educational field trip. We deliver a range of educational programmes that meet current curriculum requirements, with options to suit all ages and abilities.

Our education animals include:

Sanchez the leopard gecko
Sasha the royal python
African pygmy hedgehogs
Stick insects
White's tree frogs

Early Years Foundation Stage

These hands-on and engaging programmes are designed for 4 to 5-year-olds, which will inspire your young learners to explore and discuss the fascinating world around them, and the animals we share our planet with.

Key stage 1 and 2

Designed for 5 to 11-year-olds, our hands-on workshops include entrancing and engaging activities about the animal kingdom and their natural habitats.

Key Stage 3 and 4

Designed for 11 to 16-year-olds, our hands-on workshops include engaging activities and case studies to help students understand the global efforts to protect and preserve global wildlife.

Higher Education

These topics are aimed to students aged 16+ and provide expert insight to the role of global zoos and how they interlink with external companies and other are of employment.

SEN (Special Educational Needs)

Our new SEN programme aims to adapt topics to suit a range of special educational needs and are sensory tailored specifically to students.
