Eligibility criteria for Summer Community Diversionary Festival Funding Programme

This programme is for community-based festivals and events that make a significant contribution to the reduction of anti-social behaviour linked to key dates in the summer, specifically 11 July and 8 August.

For the funding programme, we will use these criteria:

  • applications are open to constituted community and voluntary organisations based in the Belfast City Council area.
  • only events scheduled for July 2024 and 1 to 9 August 2024 are eligible for funding.
  • the total funding available is £500,000 across both July and August. A minimum of £25,000 and a maximum of £100,000 is available for successful applicants.
  • only applications which score above the eligibility threshold can be considered for funding. Any applications which do not make the threshold cannot be considered for funding.
  • if successful applicants fail to submit all paperwork and receipts for vouching purposes by the date given by our team, then they are automatically ineligible for our 2025 programme.

There will be an independent evaluation of all events that receive funding.
