Belfast City Hall is a Grade A listed building. We use white light to illuminate the exterior most of the time, which is best for highlighting the building's beautiful architectural features.
Our LED lighting system at City Hall reduces our energy costs and allows us to light up the building in various colours and combinations.

We cannot facilitate illuminate requests from 18 November 2022 until 7 January 2023. This is due to the technical requirements of festive lighting on the exterior of City Hall during Christmas.
We light up the building for events which we have organised in City Hall or the grounds. We will only accept other requests to light up City Hall in exceptional circumstances. For information, please email cityhallfunctions@belfastcity.gov.uk
