Zoo Express update on Wednesday 9 September 2026
On Saturday 26 September, the 10.30am, 11.15am and 12 noon services will not be available.
From Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 September, the 2.45pm, 3.30pm, 4.15pm and 5pm services will not be available.
Our accessible Zoomobile is available to book for visitors who need assistance getting around the zoo.
Take a scenic ride to the top of the zoo. The Zoo Express is suitable for families with young children, visitors who prefer to avoid steep paths, or who want to take in the views around the zoo.
Zoo Express ticket prices
- Adult: £3.50
- Child: £2
You will get a stamp to travel on The Zoo Express.
Booking the Zoo Express
We recommend you book your space as there are limited spaces. You can book the Zoo Express when you buy your admission tickets to the zoo.
You can also book the Zoo Express at our admission desks when you arrive at the zoo, or call 028 9077 6277 or email [email protected].
You can get on and off the Zoo Express from two key stops across the zoo.
- Buzz Photo Spot - main boarding point at the roundabout near the Buzz Photo Spot
- Treetop Tearoom - perfect for stopping off for refreshments.
Visitors who have a stamp can travel on the train during operating hours.
Departure point
You can get on The Zoo Express from outside the Buzz Photo Spot.
Each journey takes about 15 minutes.

Other information
- Spaces on each train are limited to 48 passengers and 1 wheelchair user.
- Storage for buggies or luggage is available on the vehicle but will be limited in the event of the vehicle’s full capacity.
- We cannot guarantee availability for visitors who have not booked.
- You can board or leave the train at the Buzz Photo Spot or Treetop Tearoom.
- Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
- It is your responsibility to arrive on time. If you are late, you will miss the train departure and there may not be availability for later departure times.
- The Zoo Express will be available subject to operational needs.
