Our giraffe experience will bring you close to the tallest land animals in the world, our herd of Rothschild’s giraffes. Feed the herd some leafy greens and quiz the keepers who care for these extraordinary animals.
Your giraffe experience
A giraffe experience lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes:
- free admission to the zoo for the participant
- behind the scenes access to the giraffe-feeding area
- an opportunity to feed our herd of Rothschild’s giraffes
- an opportunity to meet our giraffe-keepers and learn more about these popular animals, and
- an experience certificate.
Each giraffe-feeding experience can have a maximum of six participants taking part.
Age requirements
To participate in a Giraffe Experience at Belfast Zoo, you must be 8 years old or over. Age limits are strictly set for the health and safety of our animals, participants and staff. You may be asked on the day to provide proof of age of the participant.
Children under 17 years old must be accompanied by a spectating parent or guardian.
Spectating parents and guardians must pay normal zoo admission on the day of the experience and can watch from the visitor viewing areas. They can take photographs from this area.

A giraffe experience needs to be booked.
Our giraffe experience is available on Saturdays and Sundays. The experience starts at 9.30am.
Giraffe experience price
A giraffe experience costs £80 per person. There is a discount for group bookings.

- £140 for two people
- £205 for three people
- £265 for four people
- £320 for five people
- £384 for six people
