Number of major applications approved by Planning Committee
These include a new 13 storey aparthotel, as part of development plans to refurbish an historic Victorian terrace on Bedford Street, with part change of use to include two cafes on the ground floor and offices above, and the aparthotel to be built and located to the rear of the building.
Approval was also granted for a 10 storey mixed-use development with 85 serviced apartments on the Dublin Road.
Permission was also given to the mixed-use regeneration and development of land in North Street and Gresham Street comprising 3 to 5 storeys with ground floor retail/food units and offices above. While approval was also given for the redevelopment of a vacant surface level car park at North Street, Winetavern Street and Gresham Street for a mixed-use building, 4 to 9 storeys in height, with ground floor retail/restaurant/business units and grade A office accommodation.
Planning Committee Chair, Councillor John Hussey, said: “These major developments are proof that investors have high confidence that our city will continue to grow into the future.”
