  • Belfast City Hall

    Belfast City Hall is Belfast City Council's civic building. It is in Donegall Square, in the heart of Belfast city centre. It first opened its doors on 1 August 1906.

    Coronavirus update

    Due to coronavirus (COVID-19), there are no public tours or functions in City Hall. The exhibition is closed. Updates will be published on this website and our social media channels.

    City Hall building is closed to the public except for the Registration Office which has an appointment-only service. Find out about registering births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships. Access to the building is by the rear entrance on Donegall Square South.

    The Bobbin Coffee Shop is closed. Our Changing Places facility is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm.

    City Hall grounds are open, including access to the Garden of Remembrance.

    Access is by the rear entrance on Donegall Square South.

    By train

    Translink operate regular train services to and from Belfast City Centre. For up-to-date information on timetables please visit www.translink.co.uk. Lanyon Place Station and Great Victoria Street Station are both within walking distance to City Hall.

    By bus

    By air

  • Changing Places facility

    City Hall has a Changing Places facility. The facility is available to the public. It's open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. For access, you should ask security staff at the back gate of City Hall.

    Equipment in the Changing Places facility:

    • height-adjustable adult sized changing bench 
    • hoist 
    • centrally placed toilet with space either side 
    • accessible shower 
    • non-slip floor 
    • privacy screen
