Working with community groups
The Beat Initiative - who are organising the carnival on our behalf - have been working with community groups from across Belfast to create their own colourful carnival pieces to take part in the parade.Groups will be joined in the parade by a host of carnival performers, floats, music and percussion from local traditions fused with carnival styles.

Transport
There will be some disruption along the carnival procession route between 12 noon and 1pm. We hope that disruption will be kept to a minimum.Drivers should proceed with care, as there will be large numbers of pedestrians in and around the Queen’s Square and Victoria Street areas during the afternoon.
Buses
In order to reduce the level of carbon omissions when attending our events, please remember that Belfast is serviced with an extensive public transport service from Translink. Buses servicing Chichester Street will be diverted to other pick-up and drop-off points for the duration of the parade. The bus lane in Queen’s Square will remain open throughout the event.
