Building control

Coronavirus update

Our offices at Cecil Ward Building are closed, but we are working remotely. Thank you for your patience as we work to deliver all our normal services through this pandemic.

Building control inspections

We are carrying out all types of inspections including internal inspections of occupied properties.  These may be in person or virtual.

We cannot carry out in person inspections inside homes where anyone has symptoms of COVID-19 or is self-isolating – please do not request such an inspection if this is the case.

When you request an inspection, we will contact you to arrange a time for your inspection. We will also ask you some COVID-19 related health and safety questions and discuss our social distancing requirements.  For in person inspections you must agree to our social distancing requirements, and if we find this is not the case on site, we will terminate the inspection.

You must already have made a valid application, and you must give us at least 24 hours’ notice when requesting an inspection.

To request an inspection, or notify us of inspection stages call us on 028 9027 0650

We aim to respond to general enquiries within 2 working days, for more complex enquiries we may need up to 5 working days.

A building control surveyor will contact you within 24 hours.

You can also phone us on 028 9027 0650.
