Book a ticket for a tour that reveals the history and significance of Clifton House.
Clifton House opened in 1774 and provided sanctuary to local people and passing sailors for decades. The house has survived rebellions and revolutions.
Clifton House staff and volunteers will explain the history of the house. Through augmented reality, visitors can get immersed in what life was like in eighteenth-century Belfast. See how children learned in the nursery school. Experience the Black Hole, a punishment room for misbehaviour. Feel and hear how it was to work in Belfast's first cotton mill and how the city influenced the rest of the world.
This tour is in British Sign Language (BSL). It's also open to visitors without hearing loss. To buy tickets, go to Clifton House Tour: Experience the Belfast Poor House (link opens in new window).
