Category: Ending violence against women and girls, European City of Sport
We are supporting the Executive Office’s Strategic Framework to End Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG).
Belfast is also a European City of Sport in 2026, and this event brings together both strands of work, building upon the success of last year’s inaugural event aimed at sports clubs in the city.
This event is a further opportunity to develop awareness, so representatives from Belfast sports clubs can build their skills, become a champion in their setting and speak up about the importance of tackling violence against women and girls.
The session, featuring MMA World Champion Leah McCourt, will help coaches, players and volunteers to recognise signs of domestic violence and coercive control and respond accordingly, and encourage leaders to show a zero-tolerance approach.
