Ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August, Northern Ireland will participate in the King’s Baton Relay.
Each participating location has been asked to customise and decorate their own relay baton, and all 74 batons will be reunited in Glasgow at the opening ceremony on 23 July.
On its journey across Northern Ireland, the baton will be held by bearers from a range of backgrounds, including local sporting figures and members of the public.
Further details of the route and how to take part will be available on the Commonwealth Games website nearer the time.
This event is organised by Commonwealth Sport and is part of our European City of Sport 2026 programme, together with our leisure partners, GLL, and ACES – Worldwide Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation.
