The Maritime Mile Blueway Trail is a new outdoor educational and family experience to help you explore Belfast’s historic waterfront and find out about its wildlife.

The trail includes 10 stops along Belfast’s iconic waterfront with questions, clues and facts which you can find on a series of information panels of all shapes and sizes along the self-guided route.

Each stop is clearly marked on map that you can download from Maritime Mile (link opens in new window)

Use your expert navigational skills to help you on your very own waterfront adventure. Follow all the environmental and sustainable clues to learn about the natural heritage of Belfast’s waterfront. Answers can be found on different interpretation panels along the trail.

Maritime Belfast Trust, the charity which preserves and promotes Belfast’s rich maritime heritage, has collaborated with Belfast Harbour on the initiative, which has been developed to support the Blue Flag status of Belfast Harbour Marina and the promotion of the city’s iconic heritage waterfront as a seamless, accessible and vibrant destination for everyone.

There will be monthly prize draws, and everyone who completes the experience will get their very own Maritime Mile Blueway Trail certificate. The trail is free and open until 4 November.

For further information, go to Maritime Mile or follow Maritime Mile on Facebook and Instagram #MaritimeMile. If you'd like a printed map, you can get one from AC Hotel Belfast, the Dock Café and Titanic Hotel Belfast.
