Book your child's place on a free learn to cycle course.

We are running learn to ride a bicycle courses in our community centres in conjunction with Cycling Ireland. Each course has a weekly one hour session for four weeks. Children should attend the full course to benefit from the learning. Spaces are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Balance Bike

The Balance Bike course is suitable for children aged three to four years old. The course is for beginners who can't ride a pedal bike.

Bike Skills

The Bike Skills course is suitable for children aged four years old and over. For this course, children should know how to start and stop a bicycle.

Sandy Row Community Centre This course is now fully booked.
Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 February 2026, 10am to 12 noon (this is an intensive three-day course)
Cregagh Community Centre This course is now fully booked.
Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 February 2026, 1pm to 3pm (this is an intensive three-day course)
Dee Street Community Centre Wednesday 25 February 2026, 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Finaghy Community Centre Thursday 26 February 2026, 6.30pm to 7.30pm

This event is organised by our council and is part of our European City of Sport 2026 programme, together with our leisure partners, GLL, and ACES – Worldwide Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation.
