Belfast woman sentenced after dog attack on a person

A Belfast woman has been sentenced at Belfast Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 31 March 2026 following her conviction for offences involving three dogs attacking a person.

Belfast City Council took the prosecution against Lisa Molloy of Dromara Steet, Belfast.

Ms Molloy was convicted at a previous hearing of an offence involving a dog attacking a person under Article 29(2) of The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983.

The prosecution was taken after reports that three French Bulldog type dogs kept by Ms Molloy, were out in public off lead and had attacked a person at Rutland Street on 22 April 2025, causing injuries to their arms and legs.

Ms Molloy received a 3-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months as well as being required to pay a compensation order of £100 and £128 legal and court costs.
