Springfield Park (also known as Springfield Dam) in west Belfast opened to the public in December 2020 following a £1.2 million redevelopment. This work was part of the Forth Meadow Community Greenway project.
Getting to Springfield Park
Enter the park at Springfield Road or Clovelly Street. If you are travelling by bus from Belfast city centre, take Metro no.80, 80A, 81 and 81A.
Help us name the bridge
In October and November 2022, we asked residents from the surrounding communities for suggestions on potential names for the pedestrian and cycle bridge within the park. The public then voted in the new year on a shortlist of four names that were selected by cross-community panel. The results of this vote will be announced in due course.
Keep an eye on our social media platforms and our consultation hub (link opens in new window) for more information.
Community building
Within the park is a community building which is available to local community groups, schools, youth projects and people to book. To book, email leisure@belfastcity.gov.uk.
Park events
To find out what events and activities are on in our parks, go to Park events.
As part of the Forth Meadow Community Greenway Shared Services and Spaces programme, we're developing plans to hold community events in Springfield Dam. Events could include family fun days, craft fairs, cultural, environmental and schools events.
Park opening times
Our parks open at 7.30am every day. Closing times change as daylight lengthens or shortens.
