The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, will host this special free event to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.
It will reflect on the experiences of those involved, look back at the city's contribution to the war effort in south-east Asia and include music from the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra.
Led by actor Dan Gordon, Lt Colonel Mark Scott and Maeve Cadden from the The Inniskillings Museum will discuss the role of Ulster forces in the 'Forgotten Army'. Historian Jason Burke will share the story of seaman James Magennis, who was awarded the Victoria Cross following his actions in Singapore in 1945.
The event will end with a wreath-laying at the monument of VC Magennis in City Hall grounds, followed by two minutes' silence at 12 noon.
