Venue: Various locations in Belfast
Fix it! Don’t ditch it!
We are supporting Repair Week, from 2 to 8 March 2026, a week of events celebrating repair and practical skills that help reduce waste, save money and cut carbon.
Repairing our items when they break is a really simple way to reduce the amount of waste in our lives and reduce unnecessary spending and consumption. With the ongoing climate and cost of living challenges, more people are choosing to repair items instead of replacing them. Repair Week is a chance to highlight local skills, services and organisations that help keep everyday items in use for longer.
What is Repair Week?
Repair Week is an opportunity for community groups and organisations to promote repair services, sustainable products and practical skills. There are many Repair Cafes across Belfast and Northern Ireland that promote repair at a community level. And there are lots of shops, services and organisations across our city that specialise in expert-level repair from shoes and watch repair and clothes alterations, to furniture and upholstery refurbishment.
Repair Week raises awareness of the wider circular economy, from reuse and upcycling to sharing and repair and supports more sustainable choices across the city.
Repair Week events
A range of free and low cost events will take place across Belfast, in partnership with organisations, charities and businesses across the city. Why not come along and get your bike ready for spring with East Belfast Mission at local Community Centres and St George’s Market? Get your small tech items fixed up by Ignite IT in the city centre, and the Belfast Tool Library will celebrate International Women’s Day with a workshop in partnership with the Northern Ireland Resources Network (NIRN). Some events are free and drop in, while others may require booking.
