This workshop will look at how access to justice is restricted to POAD through examining their experiences and topics such as racial profiling, stereotyping and the role of institutions in combating these ills.
The workshop will also highlight historic acts of injustices and look at moving towards a Northern Ireland where there is access to justice for all, including POAD.
The workshop is one of three sessions, running throughout Black History Month on the theme of Toward a more Equitable NI: Focusing on the UN declared International Decade for People of African Descent. Each session will use humour, poetry and conversation to open discussion around black history, equity, the history and diversity of our African and Caribbean Communities, barriers to inclusivity and the quest for the right to equality and non-discrimination.
Registration for the event is essential. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This event is part of our DiverseCity programme, exploring our diverse and shared stories and the communities, cultures and traditions that make Belfast.
