The grounds of Belfast City Hall will come alive on Saturday 18 May with a host of free family fun for Councillor Ryan Murphy’s Lord Mayor’s Day.

Belfast’s First Citizen is inviting everyone to join him on the front lawns of City Hall between 12 noon and 5pm to celebrate our diverse and welcoming city and his year in office.

The celebrations will feature internationally renowned 12 foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child and symbol of human rights, Little Amal. Over the course of the afternoon, she will take part in a performance piece based on Gulliver’s Travels.

Visitors can also enjoy a packed line-up of activities including:

  • live circus, dance and music performances,
  • Maypole dancing,
  • workshops,
  • themed walkabout performers,
  • flower-inspired arts and crafts,
  • henna tattoos, face painting,
  • traditional games, and
  • activities for older visitors.

Entry to the Lord Mayor’s Day event is free. This is a drop-in event and you don't need a ticket, but capacity may be restricted at times.
