Belfast City Council is reminding the public that there are just two weeks remaining to take part in the statutory pre-application community consultation for Belfast Stories, a landmark cultural and regeneration project planned for Royal Avenue.
The formal consultation period will close on Thursday 5th February 2026. Members of the public are encouraged to view the latest concept designs and proposals, and provide feedback before a planning application is submitted later this year.
Belfast Stories will be a major new visitor attraction, creative hub and public space in the heart of the city centre, located on the site of the former Bank of Ireland building and surrounding area. Set to open in 2030, the £100 million project is a flagship investment of the Belfast Region City Deal and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors annually while supporting new jobs and city centre regeneration.
Encouraging public participation, Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, said:
“This is a once-in-a-generation project for our city, and we want as many people as possible to help shape what it becomes. Whether you live, work or visit Belfast, I’d encourage you to go online, take a look at the latest proposals, and have your say before the consultation closes. This is your chance to influence how we tell Belfast’s stories and create a space that belongs to everyone.”
