The role the media plays in peace building is the topic of discussion in the next of the Belfast PEACE IV webinars this month.

This online event takes place on Wednesday 9 June from 7pm- 8pm and is free to join.

Leona O’Neill, a lecturer of journalism at Ulster University and a former journalist with the Belfast Telegraph and Irish News, will facilitate the discussion and will be joined by journalist Amanda Ferguson and columnist and commentator Alex Kane.

They will provide personal perspectives on reporting peace in Northern Ireland drawing from their own experiences. This webinar will look at how the media can serve as a driver of peace in diverse ways, building bridges between people and groups, improving governance and increasing knowledge of complex issues.

The Chinese Welfare Association will be taking part presenting their community’s past, present and future links between Belfast and the People’s Republic of China.

The traditional Chinese Fan Dance has been a part of China's heritage for over two thousand years and there will be a special performance by local performer, Weihong Tu, as well as a performance of the Chinese Lion Dance.
